You probably read many mom blogs and you also use Facebook to check out Pinterest while your baby is asleep.
Everyone has a blog and you want to learn how to create one.
This community is for you. You’re not wrong.
Since I started this blog almost four years ago, I can honestly say that starting a mom blog was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Blogging is my passion. That’s why I became a freelance writer five years ago. It’s the best decision for me and my family to blog for a living.
Do you know why? My entire family has been sick. For over a month, we’ve been sick with the flu, stomach flu, and icky colds.
My blog allowed me to care for my twins from home and not have to worry about them going to daycare, or hiring babysitters.
I can work from home and make an online income while picking up my twins from school. Are you ready to be that mama? You do, I’m sure.
As long as you are willing to invest the time and effort necessary to grow your blog, you can make money with your blog. These bloggers started with a blog like yours and have grown it to thousands of visitors per month.
What are you passionate about?
What is the one thing that keeps you awake at night? Take a look at what interests you and write about it.
To help you choose your niche, you can also consider past experience.
My background is in education, and I am a mom. However, my online experience is in the digital market. These experiences were the inspiration for Twins Mommy.
Choose a Blogging Platform
This blog is a WordPress.org site. While there are many other blogging platforms, such as Squarespace, this tutorial will show you how to create a WordPress.org website.
Hosting is required for a WordPress.org blog. This post will show you how to set up your hosting with Bluehost.
Because WordPress is easy to use, I recommend you start a WordPress blog.
WordPress is the most popular platform for websites (like The New Yorker or Beyonce!)
WordPress plugins offer more customization options than ever. There are thousands of themes available (both paid and free) that can make your blog stand out.
WordPress blogs can get a lot of support. YouTube videos, blog posts, and forums for WordPress are all available – not to forget me! These can assist you in setting up your site and blog.
Bluehost: Why choose it?
There are many hosts available, so why choose Bluehost as your host? Bluehost is the best choice for starting a blog.
A free domain
Bluehost offers a free domain name for the whole year when you sign-up using my link
This will save you at least $15 upfront! This is a huge advantage if you are looking to start a blog and make a profit.
Many other web hosting companies don’t offer free domains to customers.
You can reach them 24/7 for any questions
If you have a question or problem, you don’t need to wait more than an hour for a representative. Bluehost’s tech support is available 24/7 to answer any questions you may have. They also respond quickly.
Their support team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You have the option of calling or chatting live online.
Their live chat is great, but I also use it all the time. I decided to give them a call just for fun. My entire problem was resolved in less than 2 minutes. Wow, that’s fast!
These are the comments of my students about Bluehost tech support.
Automated WordPress Installation
How great is this mama! You don’t have to click buttons or type in complex commands to install WordPress. Bluehost does it for you behind the scenes…automatically!
After you sign up for Bluehost, your mom’s blog can be launched in just minutes.
For new bloggers, it’s affordable
You want to keep costs low when you start a blog. You can make money blogging, but it is a long journey. Any savings you make upfront will be a benefit for your blog over the long term.
Bluehost makes it easy for bloggers to get started with their plans. Just use my special URL. Start a blog for as low as $2.95 per month!
It was the best decision I made as a stay-at-home mom. When my twins were only taking one nap per day, I began blogging.
My twins are now in school. I started side-hustling my blog to become a full-time blogger.
Bluehost is the best hosting host for new bloggers. WordPress has recommended Bluehost to be one of the few “best and brightest” hosts.
Simply go to Bluehost, and follow me! To help you even further, I created a tutorial video that will guide you through the process of starting a blog.
P.S. P.S. You don’t have to go that route. To be taken to the correct page, click on the Bluehost hyperlink at the end of this post.
Step 1: Select Your Plan
Bluehost offers three plans: Basic, Plus, and Choice Plus. Bloggers using WordPress should choose from the Plus or Basic plan. While the Basic plan is sufficient for one blog, I am a serial blogger who can’t stop creating new blogs.
The Plus plan allows you to host unlimited domains, and you have unlimited storage space on one hosting account.
Let me assure you, you will want to start other blogs after you have started your first.
This is something that many people don’t know, but you should take advantage of the discounted pricing for multiple years. Yes, mamas.
For big savings, choose the 2-year term or the 3-year term. Bonus points: You won’t need to worry about hosting bills for 2 (or 3) more years. Yay!
To select any plan, click on the Select button. This will take to you to step 2.
Step 2: Select Your Domain Name
Do you remember the list of possible website names that you created? Your domain name is what people remember you by on Facebook and Pinterest.
It is what sets your brand apart from other brands. It should be the brand name that people think of when they think about your site’s URL.
Twins Mommy, as I have already stated, isn’t a great domain because I changed my niche to focus more on business than twins.
Twins Mommy is still helping me build a brand. My strategies for growing a blog are well-known to people.
You can either use your domain name already registered or choose a new one when you reach this page.
It will verify if your website is available by entering the name of your site. There are many options for domain extensions, such as.com ,.org, or.net. However, I recommend that you use.com because it is easier to remember and brand.
You can choose a variation of your website name if it isn’t already available.
If you have a website name that is not yet available, you can select the “I’ll make my domain later” option.
If you don’t have a blog name, this is a great alternative!
Step 3: Your Account/Package/Payment Info
Complete your client and account information.
The 36-month plan will net you the best overall savings. You don’t need to worry about hosting for 3 years.
You can pay by credit card or PayPal.
