The avocado, most famous for it's delicious main dish - guacamole, is one of the healthiest fruits (technically) out there. Avocados have nearly 20 essential vitamins and minerals in each serving and are a perfect substitution food for higher saturated fat items like butter or mayonnaise. A neat trick to ripen avocados faster is to place them in a brown paper bag, and for even quicker ripening put a banana or apple with the avocados in the bag.
