Large outdoor LED displays require a steel structure that considers foundation, wind load and earthquake magnitude. It must also be waterproof, dustproof, temperature, lightning protection, and other factors. Auxiliary equipment like power distribution cabinets, air conditioners and axial fans, lighting, and maintenance facilities like roads and ladders should all be located within the steel structure. The protection level IP65 must be met for the entire outdoor screens structure. The following are the main considerations when installing outdoor LED display installations:
- The outdoor installation of the led display exposes it to the sun, rain, wind, dust, and harsh working conditions. We can lose our electronic equipment if it gets wet.
- Lightning can cause strong magnetic and electric attacks on the led screen.
- Variable ambient temperatures are common. When the display screen is working, it must produce heat. The integrated circuit can fail to function properly if the temperature outside is too high or the heat dissipation low.
- The character of a large audience means a distant viewing distance and a broad field of vision.
Outdoor led displays must be installed in accordance with the above requirements.
(1) The screen body (the joint between the led panel and the structure) must be waterproofed and leak-proof. The screen should have adequate drainage and be able to drain easily in the event that it is submerged in water.
(2) Install lightning protection devices in buildings and on led displays. The case and led display are grounded and have a grounding resistance of less than 3 Ohms. This allows lightning to be released at the right time.
(3) Install ventilation equipment to lower the temperature. To remove heat, an axial fan is placed at the top and back of the screen.
To prevent led displays from freezing, use industrial-grade integrated circuits chips that operate between -40 and 80 degrees Celsius.
